Radian Appoints Former FHA Commissioner Montgomery to Board of Directors
Radian Group Inc. named the old one Federal Housing Administration (FHA) Commissioner and Undersecretary of the US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Brian D. Montgomery to its Board of Directors.
Following the completion of his second term at HUD, Montgomery most recently served as Assistant Secretary. Prior to his most recent role as Assistant Secretary, Montgomery served two separate terms as Commissioner of the FHA, from 2005 to 2009 and from 2018 to 2020. He first served on the board of directors of Radian from 2012 to 2017, resigning his appointment to join the HUD as commissioner of the FHA.

In addition to his service with HUD, Montgomery also served on the Federal Housing Finance Board from 2005 to 2008, as well as the Board of NeighborWorks America from 2005-2009 and 2018-2021. From 2001 to 2005, Montgomery served in the White House as Deputy Assistant to the President, most notably as Secretary to the Cabinet from 2003 to 2005.

Last month, Montgomery and four colleagues, jointly launched Gate House Strategies LLC, a new consulting firm, where he is a founding partner. The new firm focuses on FHA / Ginnie Mae / HUD and Fannie Mae / Freddie Mac policy and programmatic compliance and litigation support, including origination, service, claims and asset disposition; strategic growth opportunities; Technology; social housing; and disaster recovery.
On Wednesday, June 9, Montgomery will join the Five Star Institute to present the Government Forum 2021: a virtual event. He will participate in the Eye on the Horizon session, to discuss ways industry and government can strengthen the mortgage process going forward.
